On Tuesday morning, we met Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Buermann from the University of Augsburg. In his presentation he told us interesting facts about climate change in Germany, particularly in the Alps. He showed us several graphs and charts to outline the problems we are facing in our project weeks. Following this, each school gave a presentation on their school and respective region and their acitivites concerning sustainability and climate awareness including some entertaining quizzes.
Then we walked to the cinema and watched “ANTHROPOCENE: The Human Epoch”. This is a film about climate change in various parts of the world. After watching the film, we asked pedestrians about their opinions on climate change, how they feel about it, and what actions they believe can be taken to combat it. Later we had lunch at the city market of Augsburg.
At 1:30 pm we engaged in project work in multinational groups, working on three stations. The first station involved different games, puzzles and quizzes related to the Alps. The second station was an scientifical experiment demonstrating the difference between the temperature of normal air and air that contains more CO2. The third station presented statistics and data on weather and climate change in Germany including information on different regions and mountainous areas.
