We are not finishing… on the contrary, we are starting a new adventure.
The previous year of intensive work on the project activities has brought all participants a lot of new knowledge, interesting lectures and meetings with experts, new places, cities and countries, new friendships that will hopefully last a lifetime and information that will move us all forward, to a more sensitive perception of the world around us, but above all the changes it is going through.
We want to continue to expand and enrich our knowledge on the topic of climate change in mountainous areas, so we are moving on to the next country, Slovenia.
On 19-22 September 2024, teachers from partner schools from Slovakia and Germany met with their colleagues from the Osnovna šola Davorina Jenka primary school in Cerklje na Gorenskiem, Slovenia, to discuss the details of cooperation. The teachers confirmed the dates of the pupils’ individual short-term mobility exchanges, presented each other with proposals for the content of the mobility weeks, mentioned cooperation with scientific and educational institutions and their experts on climate change, glaciers and biodiversity in mountainous areas, proposed activities to be worked on during the school year in between exchange visits, prepared forms with personal data for the pupils for the purpose of homestay accommodation.
Colleagues from the partner school in Slovenia organized a preparatory visit, which was in the spirit of intensive and creative work on the preparation of project activities, offered a rich program full of getting to know the country and its realities, outdoor activities that we can also offer to pupils during the exchange visit. We are looking forward to it, because we know that this will also be an unforgettable and stimulating experience for both, students and teachers.
