European Erasmus Days event at Jakob-Fugger-Gymnasium

On the occasion of the European Erasmus Days (14th-19th of October) and the hosting of the one- week student mobility with groups from Slovenia and Slovakia by the Jakob-Fugger-Gymnasium, the school put on a lively and informative event during the morning break. The aim was to give the school community a better understanding of the various activities and opportunities that the Erasmus project offers at the school. The event gave a run-down of the main programmes on offer, including student mobility and short-term mobility for 9th graders, as well as internships.

There were four stands in the school foyer, with different groups and countries represented. There was one from the guests from Slovenia, one from guests from Slovakia, one from the Bourges project group, and one from the Jakob-Fugger-Gymnasium itself. At each stand, students and visitors had the chance to involved and have a bit of fun learning some new phrases in a really interactive way. Participants were given traditional sweets from the respective countries, as well as various giveaways such as pens, notebooks, stickers, bags, maps, and other items, all kindly provided by the National Agency Erasmus+ School Education and the Europe Office of the City of Augsburg

There was a great turnout, and the school foyer was filled with a lovely mix of languages as attendees gave Slovak and Slovenian tongue twisters a go. It was also great to see guests from Slovenia and Slovakia trying their hand at Swabian and Bavarian tongue twisters at the Jakob-Fugger-Gymnasium stand. The European Erasmus Day at Jakob-Fugger-Gymnasium was a great success, fostering cultural exchange and raising awareness about the Erasmus programme’s benefits and opportunities.
