Mobility in Augsburg 25 – Monday

The project activities in Augsburg began on Monday morning with an official welcome at Jakob Fugger Gymnasium Augsburg. The participants gathered for a formal welcome by the school principal, Ms. Angelika Felber.  In a short address, the importance of the Erasmus+ programme was highlighted, with particular emphasis placed on international cooperation and the relevance of climate change as a shared global challenge.

Following the welcome, a series of introductory and ice-breaking activities was conducted. These activities were designed to help participants get to know each other and to strengthen group cohesion among the multinational teams. Afterwards, the group moved to the school garden for taking some group photos to document the start of the project week.

Later, a guided tour of Jakob Fugger Gymnasium was organized. The German students showed their visiting Italian and Slovakian students the main facilities of the school, providing insight into everyday school life and the learning environment. The morning programme continued with presentations by the participating schools, during which the regions and national contexts were introduced, and climate-change-related topics were presented. The presentations from different countries were received with great interest and were followed by interactive quizzes based on the content presented.

Later in the afternoon, the students and teachers were invited for an official reception, held at the S-Forum of the Augsburg City Library. The participants were welcomed by the 2nd major of the City of Augsburg, underlining the city’s support for international educational exchange and sustainability-focused projects. The students and teachers had then the opportunity to experience local cuisine and the atmosphere of the city center at the Augsburg City Market.

Strengthened by a hearty lunch, everyone set out to explore the towns’ history with the Actionbound App. As part of this activity, interviews on climate change were conducted in Augsburg’s pedestrian zones. The programme also included a visit to the Christmas market, providing cultural impressions of local traditions.

Overall, the first day in Augsburg was characterized by a welcoming atmosphere, active participation, and lively intercultural exchange, laying a strong foundation for the further project activities.
