The Erasmus+ project and adventure for the students and teachers from Germany, Italy, and Slovakia started on Saturday, December 6th. The students and teachers from Augsburg, who are hosting their exchange students, are eagerly awaiting their arrival. Since all of the incoming students were from countries that were part of the EU, they all decided to travel green. And no, not literally travel green. We’re talking about taking public transportation. We know this brought up more challenges, especially getting up early in the morning (for the Slovakian students, most of them had to get up at 2 a.m.), along with having to change trains more than four times and always being anxious and hurried, making sure we would get on the right train in time. Luckily, ÖBB was just as good as they said they’d be. The students from Banská Bystrica were on their way to Augsburg for about 12 hours, and the students from Valmorea were on their way for about 8 hours.
After a long day of traveling, all of the students and teachers met in the main station in Augsburg. They were all tired, but excited to be together. But the day wasn’t over just yet! Once everyone had settled in, it was time for a delicious traditional dinner. This was a special moment for many of our students, as it gave them an opportunity to chat with their new classmates and form new friendships. This was our longest day yet, and we were thrilled for the days to come.
