Mobility week in Augsburg Nov. 23 – Friday

If scientific research is to be successful, it must have a predetermined structure, the different parts of which must be followed and carried out. From the definition of the research area and the definition of the research topic, through the study of literature and research, the formulation of hypotheses and the characterization of research objects, the implementation of the research at the designated site, the collection of data, researchers come to the stage of processing and evaluation of the data obtained and their interpretation. Which is a task not always easy. And this was the agenda of the last day of mobility.
On Friday, all the Erasmus teams met again at the Jakob Fugger Gymnasium to digest and process in international groups everything they had learnt and taught throughout the week. They wrote down their insights and ideas, new knowledge and recommendations in shared documents. It is one thing to communicate with classmates in English in normal everyday situations, but it is quite a challenge to use more technical terms to some extent when it comes to scientific work. But the pupils met this challenge well. If that was not possible, dictionaries helped. After all, that’s why we have them…
After a hearty scientific activity, a traditional Bavarian breakfast awaited us all – Weißwurst with mustard and pretzels. The young scientists are hungry not only for knowledge, but also for culinary experiences, and they were happy to start tasting the delicacies prepared by the kitchen.

After lunch the final online evaluation of the project week was on the agenda and all activies were high rated and the overall result from the students was 4.5/5 for this first mobility week. From now on, the pupils were allowed to enjoy their free time and the city until the evening party together. Teachers took time for a final conference, which was joined online by the coordinator of the French partner school. Information on the planned mobility in France was also a topic of the meeting.

In the evening, all pupils and teachers met again in the city to celebrate the end of the first Erasmus mobility. The parents from the partner school in Augsburg provided the excellent and rich catering, for which we would like to thank them very much. It was not only a feast for the eyes, but also a treat for the hungry stomachs of all present. The closing party also included the awarding of mobility certificates. And after all the obligatory official parts, the party was ready to start. And indeed it did…and it was not easy to keep the night quiet. But it was worth it.

The whole week was a beautiful celebration of science, of youth, of international understanding, of awareness of one’s role and responsibility as a young European. So the goal is fulfilled.
