Mobility in Banská Bystrica 2026 – Family Day

Family Day was all about bonding – an opportunity for twins to connect with their host families.  For the Slovak students, it was a chance to shine as ambassadors of Slovakia’s natural and cultural treasures. With their twins, they scattered across the region, each discovering a unique slice of Slovakia. Nestled in the country center, some students ascended ascended Hrb Peak with their twin, where breathtaking views awaited them. After lunch, they strolled through the picturesque town square of Banská Bystrica.

  • Marcel and Bendix raced at a go-kart track.
  • Alexandra and Camilla explored the fairytale-like Bojnice Castle and its adjacent ZOO, joined by Emily, Silvester, Nikolas, Lukáš, Ivana, Júlia, Hana, Kristína, and their twins.
  • Albert and Jonathan ventured to Pustý Castle, followed by a fun-filled stop at Bounce Park.
  • Saša marveled at Ľupčiansky Castle, as did Laura and Jana.
  • Oliver and Davide delved into the mysteries of Harmanecká Cave before heading to Bounce Park.
  • Lea and Francesca immersed themselves in the rugged beauty of Orava region and castle.
  • Roman and Noah hiked through the stunning landscapes of Slovak Paradise.
  • Martin and Gabriele relaxed at Tatralandia, Slovakia’s renowned aqua park.

For many, the day culminated in a traditional meal at a koliba, a rustic Slovak restaurant. There laughter and stories flowed as freely as the local dishes. The joy and satisfaction on everyone’s faces said it all. They were thrilled to share these experiences, and even more so to see their guests fall in love with Slovakia – “just as we have”.
